Below are the brackets for this weekend’s St. Martin Fall Invitational Tournament.  We have a tremendous turnout of 28 teams.  That’s over 1/3 of the teams that are playing fall ball.  I continue to be impressed with the turnout.  I never thought all these weekend tournaments would make with just league teams. The address to the field is 11098 Kippie Cut-off, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.  Weather should be fantastic, but it will be a little chilly once the sun goes down.  So plan accordingly. Below are brackets for this weekend’s Pascagoula Fall Invitational.  The address to the field is 1604 Convent Road, Pascagoula, MS.  I don’t know if this is the precise address.  But it will lead you to the north parking lot.  This is a lot closer to the fields we are using. Below are brackets for this weekend’s 2023 Saucier Fall Invitational.  We have a very strong registration of 23 teams.  So it looks like a long fun day in Saucier this Saturday.  The address to the field is 23715 Saucier Lizana Road, Saucier, MS. There will be a costume and tent decorating contest.  It’s always a great time.  If the players have a jersey number on their costumes, they can wear them in the games.  Just make sure it doesn’t hinder their movement and it’s safe for them to play. A word about pickup players.  Teams that are shorthanded may pickup a maximum of two players to make a total of 10.  They cannot go over 10 players at any time.  If a player on the team’s official roster shows up, they must immediately replace the pickup player.  The first pickup must play RF.  The second pickup must play RC.  Pickups also must bat last in the batting order.  Pickups must be registered in the same league as the team.  It doesn’t matter which team or division they play in, they just must be age eligible.  Everyone has submitted rosters.. pickups must be listed to be eligible.  Hopefully I’ve explained this clearly.. but feel free to ask questions if you need explanation. A clarification in Coach Pitch and 10u when the Coach Pitcher comes in.  We have a discrepancy between League and All-Stars.  One says a ball hits the Coach Pitcher that it’s dead and other says it’s live.  We’ve made the decision that it’s a dead ball and replay the pitch.  I plan to go through all the rules in the off-season to make it more consistent. One note near and dear to all of us.  Softball will be back in the Olympics in 2028.  The home country gets to add a number of events with a connection to the host country.  The organizing committee added both baseball and softball.  The National Council Meeting will be held in Oklahoma City at the end of October.  So I’m sure I’ll hear more about it. This has been a big week.  We have completed our first of Fall Ball and now we have our first tournament of the fall.  We have 14 teams this weekend which is pretty good considering all the activity this week.  Attached are brackets for this weekend.  With on 3 teams in Tee Ball and Coach, we went with a Round Robin to single elimination.  This means everyone is guaranteed three games.  The 10U and 12u are straight double elimination. Everyone submitted rosters.. This is a league team tournament.  It should be the league drafted team.  If for some reason you drop below 10 players, teams can pickup up to 2 players to make no more than 10 players.  The players must be registered in the same league.  We trying to this an event for all those girls that will never make all-stars or a school ball team.  It lets them experience a more competitive atmosphere.  We are playing league rules.. everyone is listed on the lineup… no player can sit out two innings in a row. The entry fee for the tournament is a flat $100 per team.  There will be a gate fee for the parents.  Some of these Rec parents may be in for a shock.  Please remind them this is a fundraiser for the Harrison Hancock League and all the money raised goes to their kids. Fall ball registrations are well underway and almost complete.  Reports are a good solid registration for most leagues with a lot of interest in playing this year.  This looks to be the biggest fall season ever.  Interleague play will start on Oct 9th and wrap up on Nov 11th, 2023.  Input is needed from participating leagues no later than Monday Sept 17th so schedules can be put together. Below is summary of leagues that indicated an interest in interleague play: • Biloxi • D’Iberville • East Central • Harrison-Hancock (Dedeaux only) • Long Beach • Ocean Springs • Pascagoula • Pass Christian • Poplarville (no teams, maybe tournaments) • Saucier • St. Martin • Woolmarket Please let me know if I left anyone off the list.
