Ole Miss To Host Pitching & Hitting Camps

Former All-American standout pitcher and current Ole Miss softball pitching coach Megan Matthews-Buning will host a pitching clinic on Dec. 5 beginning at 9 a.m. on the Ole Miss campus.
Matthews-Buning earned All-America honors as a pitcher during a stellar career at South Carolina. A four-year starter, she still holds Gamecock records for strikeouts, complete games and innings pitched, and finished one victory shy of the all-time win record with 101 career victories. Her 1,090 career K’s was 11th all-time in NCAA history after her playing career was finished. She was named a third-team All American in 1999 and was a three-time All-Southeast Region honoree and two-time All-SEC pick during her career.
The clinic will feature instruction on drills, grips, stance, motion, pitches, and understanding pitching vs. throwing. Campers will be grouped together by skill. The cost of the clinic is $110.
The Rebels will also hold a hitting camp on Dec. 5 beginning at 1 p.m. The hitting session will consist of station work, as well as, covering the fundamentals of hitting, bunting and slapping. The cost of the clinic is $110.
