The Woolmarket Baseball & Softball Organization wishes to thank everyone for playing in this year’s Woolmarket League Team Tournaments. This tournament provides an special opportunity for league girls to play in a tournament format. So many girls will never play on a tournament team or school ball team. So it gives them a chance to experience playing in a more competitive environment. We have an incredible number of 46 teams signed up to play. We hope interest keeps up and we have so many more opportunities for the girls to play throughout the summer.
Below are brackets for this year’s event. With that many teams, there is no way around having a two day tournament. So we ask for everyone’s patience as spend a long weekend at the ballpark. Below are some things we ask of everyone to make everything run smoothly:
- When it’s your time to play, please be ready. We’ll get one team out of the dugout and the next team will go in without delay. Also be ready 30 minutes before it’s you game time in case we get ahead of schedule.
- There will be no warmup on the field.. Be ready when you go through the gate. The big baseball field is available for teams to warmup on.
- We are playing league rules that are attached with just a few exceptions:
- All pool games with be 55 minutes finish the batter
- Tee Ball & Coach Pitch bracket games will be 55 minutes finish the inning
- Fast Pitch bracket games will be 65 minutes finish the inning
- Finally, if time has expired and the game has been mathematically decided, the game is over. We will not finish the inning.
We anticipate a long hot weekend. Please start hydrating your player starting on Friday. Then make sure they keep drinking water throughout the day. They will be expending energy whether they are on the field or not.
Finally, I’d like to thank everyone for Playing USA Softball. We are all here to do what’s best for the kids. We learn so much from the game that they will use throughout life. In light of recent events, there is a spotlight on umpire abuse. The intensity has been picking up in recent years. We expect this group to set the standard and positive role model for all these young people on how to compete with respect and consideration of others. All the League Presidents have agreed to the attached Zero Tolerance Policy. We govern by consensus. And all of us have come together to develop and support this policy.
Please let me know if you see an errors or have any questions. It’s a big tournament and lots of details. I’m looking forward to a great weekend of softball!
Thank you for Playing USA Softball,,,
