Attached are brackets for this year’s 2025 Vancleave Invitational. The address to the field is 5500 Ballpark Road, Vancleave, MS. We have a Vancleave record of 35 total teams… You don’t get these weekends back and it’s my goal to see every girl have a chance to play. They only have 4 fields… so working the schedule has been an ordeal.
Everyone will need to bring their patience with them.. It’s going to be real important to keep games moving so we can stay on time. Each team needs to leave the dugout as soon as possible. Teams meetings must occur off the field. The next team needs to be ready immediately following the prior game. That means lineups ready when you hit the dugout. There is no warmup on the field either. Just outside the park along Ballfield Rd is a football field where teams can warmup before games. It’s the team’s responsibility to know when their game is being played. You never know when a blow out or a forfeit may happen and we get ahead of schedule.
A few modifications for this weekend made in the interest of squeezing the schedule so we could get as many teams as possible:
1) Fast Pitch games will be no new inning after 65 minutes
2) If necessary games will be a two inning shootout in all age groups. TB and Coach will play two innings.. if it’s tied, they will play another inning until we have a winner. Fast Pitch will play the same format.. but using International Tie-Break procedure.
It’s been a continuing issue this year… But… No alcoholic beverages will be allowed inside the complex. No tobacco or tobacco like products are allowed (Nicotine pouches, coffee dip, vapes, etc) products inside the playing area or dug-outs. Persons under the under the influence of alcohol and/or illegal drugs will be requested to leave the premises. I bet there was at least half of dozen smokers that had to be warned last weekend.
Finally, it’s been a long year.. This is tournament number 13. I ask everyone to come with a great attitude and committed to being an example for these young impressionable children. There have been a few occasions this year where we let our competitive spirit get the best of us. No umpire likes to throw a coach, parent, fan or a player out.. It’s the last thing we want do… Major League Baseball umpires are typically no better than 95% accurate on balls and strikes.. Understand a missed call is as fundamental to softball as fair/foul and safe/out. It’s our job to support this kids and teach them to preserve and overcome.. Nobody is going to remember who got a ring in Vancleave, MS on June 21st, 2025. So let’s all have fun around this great game this weekend.
Thanks for Playing USA Softball,,,
P.S. Last tournament of the summer is next weekend. Get registered for South State… One coach per team needs to be ACE Certified… don’t wait until the last minute.. you’re already behind if you’re not certified.
