2025 USA Softball of Mississippi South State Tournament Information

June 25, 2025

Below are the brackets for this weekend’s 2025 Rec All-Stars South State Tournament. We ended up with 44 total teams. It’s amazing to have so many teams make to the end of our tournament trail. This will be our 14th consecutive weekend of tournaments. It’s a testament to all the great people we have across the coast that care so much about our young ladies. We would also like to welcome the fine folks from Madison Ridgeland for coming to play. We want more teams from across the region to participate in the future.

Tournament Entry Fee for TB and CP is $250. Fastpitch is $350. Teams can pay by check, cash, Venmo or Cashapp. The username for Venmo and Cashapp is tstanley2128. The 6U, 8U, & 10U will need to start on Friday night. We have a a 14 team bracket in 8U and 10 teams in 10U. Spreading it over 2 days will help those players.

Teams need to check-in prior to playing their first game. Please bring your completed roster, birth certificates and pictures to check-in. I’ll be at the main concession team checking teams in starting at 4:00PM on Friday and 6:30AM on Saturday.

One item we need to highlight. Every weekend, some team looks at the scheduled game time and thinks they don’t have to be at the field until then. Fields get ahead and behind schedule. It’s the coach’s responsibility to know what time they play. The next game will happen right after the game ahead of them. Games can easily be pulled up an hour or more if there is a forfeit. Tee Ball and Coach Pitch always seems to run ahead of schedule. No team wants to win by forfeit and no umpire wants to forfeit a team…. So please, please, please.. keep track of the schedule on a field. Know when you play.. leave someone behind to monitor the previous game.

One final note…. We pride ourselves on getting the rules right. No one is perfect and no one knows that whole rule book. But we really try. Some of you might have noticed…. I don’t answer phone calls from coaches on game day. Only an umpire can call me to a field. Should you have a rules question… either the rule itself or the interpretation of the rule.. please ask the Home Plate umpire to call the Tournament UIC or Tournament Director. This weekend, that’s Ben Gammons and myself. We’ll come over and provide a quick opinion. It won’t cost you a $100 or anything. If you do not believe that’s correct, you’ll still be able to lodge a formal protest. We’ll convene a protest committee and render an official opinion. Also understand if you keep playing, the protest won’t be considered timely and will be invalidated. There is nothing we can do if you continue the game. Judgement calls and the playing field are not protectable.. Our umpires have developed a trust with Ben and I. They know we’re not out to get them. We field multiple calls from umpires during the day to ensure they are enforcing the rules correctly. I’m very proud of the umpires that call our games.

Best of luck to everyone!

Thanks for Playing USA Softball!
