Another week of rain every day… This weekend’s Picayune Invitational will be held at Friendship Park in Picayune. The address is 1701 South Haugh, Picayune, MS. The good news is 5 of the 6 fields we are using are turf fields. So as long as it’s not raining on Saturday, there’s a good chance we will get it in.
We have 33 teams competing this weekend. Very respectful and pretty good support from all the area leagues. I know the Picayune folks are extremely happy with the turnout. Last year’s event was mostly Picayune teams.. so it’s nice to have so many teams make the trek up Hwy 43. It really is an amazing facility.. with 18 fields… yes.. 18!
I put the start time at 9am for the tournament. That will give folks a little extra time to get to Picayune. The 12u and 16u are scheduled for the dirt field. The 16u can wear steel spikes as long as we’re on dirt.
We will keep you informed of any late schedule changes. Stay dry.. Hopefully we don’t get too much over the next couple of days.
