You are entering Championship Play, so everything will be a little more formal this weekend. We play by the State Rules and the Official Rules of Softball. The local Gulf Coast ASA rules do not apply. You will need a roster. You’re players must play in South State to be eligible for State. Included in the packet is rules for coach pitch and fast pitch. I have a roster that needs to be filled out and signed by the parents.
There will be a Coaches Meeting on Friday, 2:00 PM at the fields. It would be good to have at least one coach there. The first game time is 4:00 PM. Players need about 15 minutes to check-in before they play. Be sure to allow enough time for them to check-in before they warmup. They will not play without checking in.
Coach Pitch plays straight double elimination. Based on the order of finish, teams will be seeded into either the Gold, Silver or Bronze bracket at the State Tournament. The 10u and 12u bracket will play two pool to double elimination. They plan to have a upper and lower bracket for the C-State Tournament. So this is a good weekend, no pressure, just let the kids play.
The closest address to the field is 490 Mill Av, Wiggins, MS. There is a map included in the packet. The weather forecast is improving, but you should be prepared for anything. Be sure your players hydrate to be able to handle the heat.
