A bit of bad news this morning. Due to all the rain this week and even this morning, the baseball side is completely unplayable. They have fresh sod and it’s holding water pretty bad. I never realized how much better softball fields drain over baseball fields. We lost Field 6 in Gulfport last weekend… now we lose all the baseball fields this weekend. Unfortunately with 41 teams and only 4 softball fields, it means we’ll be playing Saturday and Sunday.
The smallest bracket is 12u. 10u is one of the next smallest.. So we’ll get them in and out on Saturday. 6u and 8u will play on Saturday and Sunday. Rather than having 12u and 16u sharing a field on Saturday and having these tremendously long delays, we moved the whole 16u bracket to Sunday. No one likes it.. But it seems like the best of a bad situation. It seems like every weekend, I’m working 3 or 4 sets of brackets. It’s been a weather crazy kind of spring.
Attached is the revised bracket. Everyone should review the brackets for their new start time.
I know everyone is in 19 groups on GroupMe. But here’s one more.. As a test, I started an Announcement Channel Ony. I hope to use to push out schedule changes, etc. A link is below to it. Only Ben and I can post to it.. I encourage coaches to join the group.. It would be a great way to push out updates.. but also not spam everyone with the normal back and forth squabbling.

Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate this weekend. We were fortunate to play in Gulfport. Let’s hope we get lucky.
